DALLAS, January 21, 2014 – MarketScout today announced its acquisition of an Animal Mortality underwriting facility providing coverage on an admitted basis in 48 states. The facility targets all types of species including equine, bovine, camelids, cervids, exotic, and canine. Death and theft coverage is offered on a broad perils basis, including accident, injury, sickness, and disease. The underwriting team will operate out of MarketScout’s new Omaha, Nebraska office and will place polices on behalf of QBE – their “A” rated insurer. “Insuring animal mortality requires underwriters with very unique skills,” noted Richard Kerr, CEO of Dallas, Texas based MarketScout Corporation. “Our team includes three of the best underwriters in the Animal Mortality market.
